My name is Shaun the Sheep but Choc's 2 year old grandson Ethan always calls me SheepShaun for some reason and the name has just stuck.
I've been travelling with Choc since May 1997 after she found me in a shop in Morecambe (a sleepy seaside town) and decided I was the perfect companion for her pillion rides on a bandit1200. After a few years of being a passenger, she had decided to give riding a motorbike a go herself and I've been her constant companion ever since. I sleep on the bannister in the hall so she can't get past me with her bike gear on without me hitching a ride. I know she counts me as her lucky charm and we have some baaaaarilliant adventures together, along with Ethel - a Suzuki GS500 and my best friend since Choc brought her home in 2003. It not always easy to pillion with Choc sometimes, like when she took her little SR125 (Lancelot) over a 3ft wall during her Compulsory Basic Training or through her four motorcycle tests before she finally passed, but I always had the faith that one day she would learn to ride her own ride and we sure do enjoy ourselves.
Whilst I've been her constant companion for many years, it's only this last year that we finally decided to document our adventures, when Choc found herself alone after a very long and mostly happy relationship was broken. Choc took to riding out with me and Ethel at every opportunity and would often take pictures of me on her lone ride outs and we would post them on her facebook page so that her friends and family would know that she was still keeping the shiny side up. Little did she know that many other folk thought it was cool to see where we had been and what we had been up to. We've also made many more new friends on the way, particularly from the two bike forums which is pretty darn great. I seem to have got myself quite a little following - so much so that I now have my own facebook page. How cool is that?
We have many rides planned for this year and look forward to sharing them with you. We will also share some of our last year's rides with you too - and hope you won't mind.
For now - ride safe and keep the shiny side up (o:{}
